Caramanica writes about the apparent off center qualities that Rae Sremmurd have managed to build on and its interesting but I can’t tell if the tone is actually complimentary or just polite. There are hints of the idea that the duo are successful due to the otherwise mundane and lackluster output from the community which might lead some to question their ongoing viability in a more competitive environment. And as always JC zeros in on something we all notice, the rapping itself is blahzay but there is something unquestionably enjoyable about the voice over the impeccable production. Similar to ilovemakonnen though, I can’t help but be inclined to think that the music here trumps the rapping by leaps and bounds. Fitting then that the rappers reversed their production crew’s name and took it on as their moniker. And good thing that we mostly would not expect to consume one without the other.
