I don’t get it, what’s Black Thought going to do every night? I consider this just a rumor for now.
The Roots will take a break from their non-stop touring schedule beginning next March. The band will be trading in its tour bus to join comedian Jimmy Fallon’s new late night talk show as his full-time house band.
Roots’ frontman ?uestlove broke the news during an interview at the group’s show in Chicago last week. A YouTube video with the announcement has since been pulled off the Internet.
Fallon’s show replaces Conan O’Brien’s “Late Night” on NBC next year, while Conan takes over for Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show.”

HFC Syrup?. One is a derivative and primarily used as a disguise or imitation out of economic convenience. The other was cultivated by my wife’s ancestors and historically in such high demand that France tossed their piece of Canada in exchange for some islands where it was cultivated. What? No wait, what I meant to say was, both are sweet but only one is raw as fuck. Give it to me raw! Ah screw it. Similes suck anyway. Sugarcane is best cause it gives me an excuse to carry a cutlass everywhere I go. What were we talking about again?

Dj Eons One comes through with another great vintage mix. Originally released on vinyl circa 1988.
Dj Prince Ice - Dopemix Vol. 1
Here’s a nice megamix from 1988 on Megajamm Recordz by the mysterious “DJ Prince Ice”. My money’s on Prince Ice being fake name so King Tech and his homies (Mark 5 who produced a grip of tracks on Dre Dog’s “I Hate You With a Passion” album and Big Ed who has a pretty eclectic resume) wouldn’t get sued for pillaging all the tracks necessary to make “Dopemix Vol. 1″. What sets this mix apart from other megamixes of the time is the sheer amount of scratching. This ain’t no Latin Rascals tape splicing mix here, this is real DJs cutting wax over an unwavering 808 pattern. While it does include many megamix staples “Prince Ice” gets some dirt under his nails dropping snippets of Ice T’s “Colors” and G Rap’s “Poison”. There is a distinct Bay Area sound to this mix that many listeners outside the 415 (I’m talking pre 510) may not catch. File this one next to your Flynamic Force and In-A-Minute Records.

The book that she would like us to boycott is called Digging For Dirt. Maybe because it includes comments like this from his one time lawyer:
“the rapper would “talk in jive talk” and “come into court with two different shoes, labels with price tags attached”.
He adds, “It’s possible his behaviour was a result of mental illness. One time he had his hat on backward, had on two different shoes, and he stood with his back to the judge with his hat facing the judge as if he was looking at the judge.”

The following is a letter Cherry Jones, Ol’s Dirty Bastard’s mom, would like to release to the media (in her own words) -
Four years ago today marks one of the most tragic days in my life when I lost my son Rusty whom many of you know as Ol’ Dirty Bastard. For the past four years I have sat back and watched certain individuals try and tarnish my sons beliefs. My son loved every single one of his children and every single one of their mothers and provided for them all the best he could when he was alive. My son was an extremely generous soul. In the past four years, my daughter has portrayed me very poorly in law, Icelene. While I am very upset with my daughter in law’s false remarks towards me, I am more upset by the way the other children Rusty had fathered and cherished are not being taken care of properly. I am also outraged that it appears Icelene has been diverting money away from the other children and taking out personal loans against Rusty’s Estate Assets. She has gone through numerous attorneys and her new attorneys have racked up numerous amounts of legal fees and have accomplished nothing. The fans want my son’s last album, which they are not allowing Koch to drop.
