Besides it’s sheer extensiveness, the best thing about this collection, which now sits at Hunter College’s Center for Puerto Rican Studies, is how finely documented and categorized it is. If only they would screw over big copyright and digitize it! I’m reaching, I know.

By far one of the richest series in the collection, the audiocassettes, CD‟s, LP‟s, videocassettes and DVD‟s included here provide researchers with a panorama of Puerto Rican, Latin American and Brazilian rap, reggaeton and underground music dating from the 1980s through the present. In addition, contained are a number of interviews with seminal artists from Puerto Rico and the U.S., such as Vico C, as well as lectures and presentations on the subject of hip hop by Rivera and featuring the likes of Charlie Chase and Tony Touch.
