Two screenings this week of R.A. The Rugged Man’s “Bad Biology,” which has been in the works for a while now. Definitely hitting this up.

Synopsis
Driven by biological excess, a young man and woman search for sexual fulfillment, unaware of each other’s existence. Unfortunately, they eventually meet, and the bonding of these two very unusual human beings ends in an explosive and ultimately over-the-top sexual experience, resulting in a truly godawful love story…. With bizarre special effects by Gabe Bartalos, a hip-hop soundtrack from Prince Paul, and shot in glorious 35mm, Bad Biology is guaranteed to shock even the most desensitized of audiences, and sure to become a modern cult classic. This winter, NYC’s famed Sunshine Cinema is presenting the “Sunshine At Midnight” series. This weekend, the featured film is cult favorite Bad Biology, produced and co-written by none other than underground rap legend R.A. The Rugged Man. Directed by famed B-movie director Frank Henenlotter, Bad Biology is a twisted tale of love and weirdness with a strong hip-hop influence, featuring a score by Prince Paul and appearences from the likes of Reef The Lost Cauze, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, Wu-Tang affilitae Remedy, Playboy model Jelena Jensen, and Penthouse pet Krista Ayne. The film has only had limited theatrical runs since its 2008 release, so this is a rare chance to witness the sex, violence, absurdity, and hip-hop first-hand.

Bad Biology is playing this Friday and Satruday, January 21st and 22nd, at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema at 143 East Houston Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Tickets are $9.99. “Sunshine At Midnight” is presented by the Village Voice and WNYU’s The New Afternoon Show.
