Dear Mr. Jean,
I am a 56 y/o Black Grandmother from NYC . I am not into Hip Hop but I do support our young brothers and sisters like you. My message to you on Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday is to hang strong during these attacks like he did when he was under fire. You became successful but just did not count your money unlike others. You went back home way before this earthquake to try to help your people. No one cared what you were doing then but now it is about what you young’uns call, “The Benjamins”. Now that billions of $ is pouring in, you and your organization have become a threat to the greedy, bigger organizations. I can recall one big organization during 911 that was ripping off people by “saving” money intended for 911 for “future” operations. I amd a Social Worker and don’t make alot but I will donate to you because of your track record of helping your folks, our people of color. Your people are strong and remember that you are too ! Keep you cool as you did in this video to show your intelligence, control, and ability to overcome obstacles. Many of these people will be long gone after this earthquake but you will be there and your people will thank you for it. I love my country but with all our might and money, we have not done a good job in getting the basic items like food and water to those in need in Haiti. I would love to see the General Honore who was in New Orleans in there . You, because of who you are, connections on the ground, will have a better chance of reaching those in need. Your people will cooperate and follow you. So, stand tall with pride and determination, keep your eye on the prize which is to help your people and don’t allow yourself to be drawn in on TV to fights by media people who smell blood and would love to trip you up on TV. If by someone chance others around you have not done the right thing by filing certain paperwork to justify the spending, clean it up now. You know that people are looking and even the most innocent person can be made to look guilty.
