Someone was asking me about this back and forth between Cage and Vast Aire the other night. This track is apparently the latest diss from Vast. He also recently wrote a long explanation about the beef right here. I can’t imagine El-P “censoring” anything but what do I know. Although Cage’s last record is arguably the “cleanest” attempt at “dark” music I’ve heard.

So ya cage grew up, lost weight and changed his clothes. He changed his sound up a bit, and i agree the nu album is like 50/50, but yo Vast Aire is no where near as good as he was when he was down with def jux. Everything after the first scissor tongue disc is bunk. its like he ran outta shit to say. And hes reppin the 603???? I lived in New Hampshire, the whole state is pussy gimme a break.. and that dude genesis sounds like sum1 shit out a verse and wiped their ass with the track…a 7 minute dis with a 90 second intro and 2 mins of the beat riding out at the end. i figured i was gonna hear like sum ill shit but vast has to be careful cuz he got alot of money and music tied up with def jux. he never mentions elp or aesop but how u gonna come at their bread and butter and expect to be friends later? dudes bugging! So vast aire has copywrite, metro, genesis and …wow if thats the foundation of his new team, theyll consistenly be in last place..if u want real hip hop that doesnt suck and is better than vast even, chek the url…peace

It really depends on your taste, who you think wins this “battle”. If you like annoying “raw” hip hop, Vast is your man. If you like annoying emo crap, Cage is the guy. Either way, we lose.
