Recap of the night by my boy D:

    The whole night SUCKED!!!

They said doors would be opened at 11pm. That wasn’t the case. I got there at 10:30, and there was a line halfway up the block. Security kept saying two more minutes.

Finally at about 12:15 the line started to slowly move forward. Get to the front of the line and it’s mass confusion. 3 separate lines in different directions. One security guard contradicting what the other one said. “Make one line against the gate” “Make two lines” Yelling by the both security guards at everyone being confused. Finally get in and it’s damn near packed.

I get to about 20 feet from the stage, Flex spinning for like 30 minutes. Everyone cramped in like sardines in a can. And get this.. NO air conditioner on! Bullets of sweat pouring down everyone’s face.

Dres came out first. Performed 3 songs and then was told your time is up! Lords Of the Underground next. 20 minutes of the DJ playing music. Finally Lords about to get one.. Oh wait… No one can find them. Then the music cuts out for like 10 minutes of silence.

Lords FINALLY FINALLY hit the stage, and the mic cord comes out during their first song. They performed 4 or 5 songs and then i left. I couldn’t take it anymore. It was already 2:30 in the morning.

My boy stayed till the end. He said Brand Nubian performed 4 songs, Nore did 7!!!!! and EMPD was cut off after 4 songs. Parrish dropped the mic on the ground in disgust.

Did i mention the bass was so loud it nearly shattered my eardrum?

And another recap of the night:

“They started the show waaaaaay too late man, it doesn’t even make sense. And word is bond the joint just wasn’t organized well at all. Red & MeF had the best performance that night though, but it was like a 25 minute set though.

Only wack, because they tried to bunch up all these legendary lyricists into 10 to 15 minute sets. On top of that, Wire Mics popping out on stage. DJs not knowing when to play the songs or which songs to play. Scratching off beat during set. And like A million cats on stage that aren’t doing anything but standing there. The whackest thing to me was that Nore wasn’t supposed to even be at that show and he ended up having the 2nd longest set of the night. Over Brand Nubian? Over EPMD? Are you serious? Other than that yeah it was nice to have Dres up there doing new shit that nobody cares about, and Lordz didn’t even look like they were gonna perform because of their Entorage trying to get on stage and security wasn’t having it at all. There were so many things wrong with that show. Cats apologizing on stage and shit. And after “Headbangers” Red & Mef just fucking dropped the Mic and left understandably. B.B King’s been getting pretty whack as of recently though.”
