As the dude himself says, he’s kind of nerdy, and apparently he thinks his mind is disturbing. I would say his lyrics are more wacky than disturbing. I get the feeling his punchlines and flow lacks strength at times, maybe he needs some reverb or some shit, I don’t know. But he also has a tendency to exude something honest and unapologetic that I can appreciate. Not to mention his beat selection is pretty solid, in an amateur, break-less kind of way (granted I’ve only heard a handful of songs). Mister Morris is a pretty good example but also check the tracks below. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a really good example of his comfortability behind the mic and with writtens. Like A Girl has a catchy hook (that’s all it takes to win me over sometimes, what can I say? I’m easy.) Peace to Phillip for the look. I look forward to hearing more. Both tracks below courtesy of Jimmy, whoever he is. Big up Chi-town.

Phillip Morris – Like A Girl
It‘s not that serious. Or is it?
