About 5 years ago, my wife and I were in Paris trying to avoid buying $6 dollar sodas. Lots of fond memories from that trip. One thing I will never forget is how much I enjoyed getting back to the hotel room after a long day of sight-seeing. It was such a treat to be chillaxing in bed and put on MTV Europe and actually get to watch music videos. And not just recycled US programming but new artists that I had never encountered before. I’m pretty sure this was the first time I ever came across Dizzee Rascal. I was a bit familiar with Basement Jaxx but wasn’t really into their sound. But when I heard Dizzee rhyme, it really caught my attention. The video also bugged me out. Re(tro)spect. (inspired via Dart Adams’ recent grime entry)
