Ayatollah - Louder

Wonderful instrumental from Ayatollah. That sample sounds mad familiar but I can’t place it. *Forgot to mention, this is a track from Ayatollah’s new instrumental record, titled Louder, out now on Nature Sounds Triboro Bridge Commission. With all the Pete Rock noise it seems it fell a bit under the radar. Try this link instead.

Ayatollah – Coonskin

I love that instrumental. It sounds to me like it uses the same sample as “Wu Banga 101″ off of Supreme Clientele. I think Ayatollah took advantage of it a little better, although you cant question the “classicness” of the RZA flip

Is it the same sample? I’m listening to Wu Banga 101 now and it doesn’t sound the same.

It sounds to me like the main piano riff in Wu Banga 101 is the same as the third one in Coonskin. With maybe a different vocal sample for WB 101. Im probably just hearing things, but that is the first thing I thought of when I heard the Ayatollah track. I love the blog by the way…

not that it matters at all, but the other song it reminds me of is that Jack Johnson song “Break Down” off the second Handsome Boy Modeling School LP
