You might remember late last year Canibus uploaded and gave away the 1000 bar (were the 1000 bars ever verified?) acapella he titled Poet Laureate. Fans flocked to create their own compositions using his verses. I believe Time Chamber 2012 is one such video and beat composed by Oobe, an artist possibly from Belgium. Although amateur fanworks tend to lack the polish and execution of remix projects composed by more seasoned artists (a la the 1001 jay-z remix albums by out of work producers), I find these amateur versions incredibly interesting. They offer fresh perspectives on interpretation and also reveal the tremendous potential for creativity. And they just feel less forced, less contrived.
