As pointed out by Rebecca, a few tweets between Maluca and fellow Mad Decent artist Rusko reveal the former’s sensitivity to race issues and stereotyping. Interesting though that she didn’t seem to have a problem with her own Tigeraso video, which is full of imagery that could be easily misinterpreted. Yeah, it might have been filmed on location and full of “real” people from that hood but still, when you start broadcasting salons, bodegas, chancletas and rollers as accessories, what is the message?
