Bronx born and raised, RAHIEM was a member of two of the earliest hip hop groups, going back to the mid-to-late 1970s: first he was in the FUNKY FOUR, and after that he was a member of GRANDMASTER FLASH AND THE FURIOUS FIVE, the first hip hop performers to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
