“There’s no one quite like the Master Don” I found this treasure buried among flyers during a dig many moons ago… A 15-month management contract from Mike & Dave for Master Don! Not only that but it included a song he was to record for the label called “Get Off the Beat”! On it, Don would be responsible for “playing rhythm maker and mixing”. But was it ever recorded? After numerous phone calls and a few dead ends, I was able to score the cut. Recorded in the basement of a church in the Fall of 1981, “Get Off the Brat” showcases Don in all his inimitable glory, playing beatbox while spinning “Bring It Here” by Wild Sugar over top. Meanwhile, Gangster G, Keith KC, Johnny D, and Pebblee Poo rip the mic as only the Death Committee’s Turn It Out 3 could. Enjoy!
