At age 13, DJ Lyvio G joined the group Sound Experience as the youngest member. He performed at local clubs and park jams where his name grew into local popularity. In the 1980s, Lyvio G co-founded the indie label G-Fine Sounds. He produced records for several imprints including Island Records and Jive Records.

Lyvio G was later spinning music at clubs including The Red Zone, Palladium, The Roxy, and more. He was also a radio co-host DJ for Rap This on WNYU; one of the first Hip Hop radio shows in the country. Lyvio broke records from artists including De La Soul, Stetsasonic, 2 Live Crew, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, X-Clan, Heavy D & The Boyz, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, and Doug E. Fresh. Lyvio G has also producer gold and platinum records for artists such as The Fu-Schnickens, Masta Ace, Soul For Real, The 45 King, and others.
