I went on DJ Premiere blog, which is obviously approved by him and posted this comment on this original story post, which was initially deleted but then later partially copied and changed by the moderators to say something completely different. They will not allow this type of post on their blog. if you want the real story don’t look there, they are full of shit.
Here is my original response:
“I gotta say a few things about this joke dude “Brownman” since he is doing his best to shit on people while they are dealing with something serious. Firstly, I personally know all of the players in this soap opera, that includes Guru, Solar and the 7 Grand band, but I am not part of the band.
Some of the information contained within this article was clearly contributed by a Nicholas Ali (AKA ‘Brownman’) a Trumpeter who played with the band for a period of time, and is not a collection of facts, but actually a desperate expression of SOUR GRAPES.
The music business is full of social politics like every other area in life, and every story has at least two sides. In this case, Ali is no longer part of the band, but why he is out certainly has at least two sides.
This trumpet player who no one has even heard of outside of this band was ridiculously claiming he was “hand picked” as the “replacement for Donald Byrd” in the Jazzmatazz spot, in an “official press release” conveniently at a time when Guru was incapacitated and had no way to respond.
Donald Byrd is a famous Jazz legend, and his involvement with Guru was at least 10 years before Ali was around, so he did not replace him. Ali is actually an otherwise unknown social climber trying to use the cat’s name and now Guru’s name to get ahead in the business.
In terms of the idea that Solar was ‘jealous’ of the great ‘featured soloist’ Ali, that is a joke. Ali is the type of musician who simply cannot ever shut the fuck up. There is a time to blow your horn and a time to be a team player, Ali never got that and had a need to always be in the spotlight. Even if Guru wanted him to chill he just couldn’t.
If no one can hear Guru talk, that is a problem, since no one is buying tickets to see Nicholas Ali, but to hear Guru. I have seen this personally. I guess he thought he was more important than Guru and it’s not even like he is an interesting trumpet player either. A goofy ponytail and sunglasses don’t change that fact.
Some people just need to step on others to climb up. That is what is happening here. “Brown-nose” is stepping on Guru, trying to make a name for himself while Guru is in the hospital. Replacement for the great Donald Byrd?? Bahahahahaha yah trippin!”

It is clear that Premier or his people intentionally replaced Ali’s name with Solar’s name on Premiere’s own blog. SO this is clear evidence of a political agenda to get at Guru and Solar while Guru is unable to speak out. Premiere, and Ali (AKA Brown-nose), you people are really slimy. This is the real story here.
