Not feeling Running Up That Hill, but I can’t front on John Forte as an MC. I heard he got a job teaching at City College, here he is 12 years ago rhyming at 89.1 WNYU (he attended NYU too) with Wyclef and Pras who over the Triumph beat reminds me of how RZA raps today. They spit over underground instrumentals of that time which is a little more interesting than what Flex had them rhyming over a few months before at Hot 97. I can’t recall who was hosting/djing but I think this was Martin Moore, Mayhem & Sunset era before DJ Eclipse took over with the Halftime Show.

Waddup? It was actually the era in between NY Live which was Mayhem and Sunset and the Halftime Show. That show was called The Hip Hop Shop. Lynn and DJ ROTEIGHT’s show. But on that night ,Too Sweet (from the Monday Classic show on 89.1 FM WNYU “The Candy Store”), was filling in for Lynn. The Dee Jay was DJ Roteight who came from New York Live with Mr. Mayhem and Martin Moore and Sunset and Dilute. Yup in 1997! Underground bangers all day. Do you have the whole show or any more?

Speaking of the Candy Store, where are DJ TOO Sweet and the rest of the Thundercats these days?
While residing in NYC from ’92-’99, I pretty much enjoyed an entire decade of underground House/Club music from “Club 89″-Dj Cosmo, the Candy Store-TOO Sweet ,Hector Camacho, etc.
Having been away from NYC for approximately 10 years I thought that I would be able to easily “plug back in” to 89.1Fm/the Candy store show when I was embarassiingly notified by the host of Beatwave(tonight) that the Candy store crew was replaced by her show 4-5 years ago(talk about being out of touch)!
Anyway, any info you may have would be appreciated.

    Peace!
