Great interview with Carlos Berrios where he talks in detail about the beginning of his career as a 16 year old DJ from NYC spinning in Colombia and the history of Freestyle music. As discussed here previously, he points out that MTV refused to play Freestyle music videos because it was Latino music, never mind the fact that it sold millions and dominated dance radio stations across the world. Latin hip hop? Nah, that’s like saying Black rock n roll.
