The Legendary Axe Tour featuring Canibus, Killah Priest, C-Rayz Walz and Timbo King is offering one talented artist or group the opportunity to be their opening act. All you need to send is a one-page bio, a 3-song CDR and $35. Not exactly sure what the money covers but it sounds like a great chance for someone to blow up. To commence the 1st Annual Legendary Axe Tour and give back to the Hip Hop community that has provided so much love and admiration for its artists, we will be offering an opening spot on the entire tour to one lucky Emcee, Group, and/or R&B vocalist. The winner of this contest will receive a check for $3,000-$5,000 plus have all of their travel and stay accommodations taken care of by Legendary Axe during the duration of the tour. The deadline for entry is Friday May 9, 2008.
1) All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
2) We will not exclude any applicants based on geography, race, or gender. This contest is open to those worldwide and will be judged based strictly on talent.
3) Applicants must either be (i) a solo rap artist, (ii) an r&b artist, or (iii) a group or collective of no more than four (4) people.
There will be a panel of 5 judges from separate labels affiliated with the tour that will collectively vote on who they believe is the best.
4) The top 10 candidates will receive notice from Legendary Axe one week after the May 9, 2008 deadline. These names will also be made public on the tour website.
5) The winner will be notified 1-2 weeks prior to the beginning of the tour.
6) To those applicants that aren’t chosen as the grand prize contest winner, you may still be chosen and compensated as an opener for a select tour date.
7) The earlier you submit your entry application the better. Entries will only increase in volume as we get closer to the start date of the tour.
Each applicant must submit the following:
1) A one page bio with any previous album release, show history, and contact info.
2) A 3 Song CD (CD-R) Demo. Please put your best song first.
3) A check or money order in the amount of $35 payable to Legendary Axe.
