KRS-One visits an area in New Orleans where displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina live in tents set up underneath a noisy and smelly highway. I’m guessing we won’t hear stuff like this on any mainstream news outlet anytime soon. link

I’m glad that KRS-1 made this documentary. When I first saw it on Global Grind I was shocked. You do not see that type of footage on the news. The Katrina issue has died down on t.v. and many people are back to life as usual, except for the victims of the hurricane that are still going through it. Its hard to swallow that our country can spend so much money on other things such as the war and yet they can’t help our people when they really need it. There is no reason that these people should be suffering like this. They need assistance. We need change.
yes we do have a problem with main stream America ,but as a people we have the resources to over come the obstacles that’s been place in front of us. It’s simple
THE STRUGGLE’S THAT WE HAVE STRUGGLED TO GET TO WHERE WE ARE STRUGGLING WILL ALWAYS BE A STRUGGLE UNTIL WE BEGAIN STRUGGLING TOGETHER AND ONLY THEN IT WILL BE AN EASIER STRUGGLE.
THE MAJOR PROBLEM THE SYSTEM TELL’ US WE DON’T OWN ANYTHING .THEN THEY PLACE US IN THESE NEIGBORHOODS. THEN SET UP A SYSTEM WHERE AS YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE THE YOU AREA FOR ANYTHING AS A CHILD AS A RESORT ALL YOU KNOW IS YOUR HOOD IN NOT YOUR NEIGBOR’S HOOD SO YOU BECOME VERY PROTECTIVE OF THAT. ONCE YOU BECOME A YOUNG ADULT THEY PLACE YOU IN POPULATION WITH PEOPLE OUTSIDE YOUR HOOD THAT WHERE THE PROBLEMS BEGAIN’S BECAUSE YOUR BROTHER IS NOT FROM YOUR HOOD SO HE BECOMES YOUR ENEMY NOT REALIZING YOU HOOD IN HIS IS THE SAME HOOD BECAUSE THEYBOTH HAVE NOTHING.
