Can you break down the ‘Ego Trippin’ session for me? Who chose those drums?
I think it was Ced who picked-out the ‘Substitution’ drums. What I did was I hit a regular Grand piano and I sampled it. When I sampled that piano I put it into the track. Then I had the bassline which I played off my keyboard.
Sampling’s not creative huh? You play the piano, oh you fancy huh? Granted this is one historical perspective but if you dig around you’ll be able to find disinterested affirmations. I just hope this helps tone down that type of rhetoric that bubbles up every now and again.
