According to this NYTimes article, music publishers are doing very well for themselves these days. As a lesson learned from these big wigs, when you’re negotiating your publishing deals, do what you can to hold on to as much as you can. Or sign with a fake performance name that you don’t care about losing. But don’t just give it all away.
