Low End Theory NYC Apr. 5th

Still upset about missing the first one.

After an amazing launch event, Low End Theory is back on Saturday, April 5th with another astounding line-up. We called in the big favors, and are bringing you a double-dose of L.A. heavyweights: Daedelus AND edIT, solo live sets from both. Plus jet setting residents Nobody AND Nocando (for his first Low End NYC appearance). Our local NYC-based resident Eliot Lipp will also be in effect, rocking a live PA set. Low End Theory NYC is co-presented by Konkrete Jungle and the Knitting Factory. If you missed the March event — ask around — you messed up. Now a chance for redemption: do not miss this essential showcase of future music:

DAEDELUS
[Ninja Tune]
One of L.A.’s most daring artists, this young musical romantic weaves together a true “love-sound” that falls between honeyed melody and avant-electronics. Daedelus chops and splices disparate acoustic sources into incredible works of staggering resonance. Contrasting IDM styled cut-ups with childlike 30s arrangements, he has refined a style that has no imitators.

EDIT
[Glitch Mob/Alpha Pup]
For the seasoned bass junkie, this man needs no introduction. One of our founding fathers, edIT epitomizes the highest standard of the Low End Theory sonic aesthetic. We told him about how well Low End Theory NYC was going, and he’d been waiting for the right time to rock Manhattan into oblivion. Suffice to say, that time has come. Fuck quantizing. No grids allowed.

Plus jet setting residents

NOBODY
[Ubiquity]
From his adventures on the road with Mars Volta and Prefuse 73, to his production and remixes for Postal Service, Mystic Chords of Memory and Busdriver, coupled with his own solo work on labels such as Rough Trade and Plug Research, Nobody is a living tour de force of creative genius.

NOCANDO
[Alpha Pup]
He’s no longer a secret. After winning the 2007 Scribble Jam MC Battle Championship, Nocando has been catapulted to new levels of international fame. He spent many Thursday nights honing his skills at Project Blowed, and has broken the dreams and hopes of countless would-be-MCs.

And local NYC resident

ELIOT LIPP
[Hefty]
Laying down a bedrock of notorious breakbeats under his signature Sequential Circuits and Korg MS-20 leads, Eliot Lipp has created a signature sound that has had the electronic music world stuck-on-stupid for the last four years. Eliot’s instrumentals pour forth more emotion than most modern-day crooners, and while his beats bang with a gorgeous intensity. Eliot has rocked the original Low End on several occasions, and will be holding down the NYC monthly.
