This one of a few songs I did for the “sex and violence album” . For reasons unknown I never got a chance to fully complete the production on these songs and thus poor mixes were ultimately released to the public . When I hear those songs I cringe .. I do wish I could turn back the hands of time and finish these recordings . Hope you enjoy these

This is a Song I did for Kane in 1989 which is the title track of his album ” Its a Big Daddy Thing ” . At this point in my career this was a big highlight to work with Kane and there was definitely a mutual respect for each others talents . This was our first time working together and I have to say Kane is truly genius a funny guy and a pleasure to work with . Listening back to this song I really wish I could have made the production better . Keep in mind this was just a rough mix , the better mixed version is on the album.

Slick Rick – Behind Bars (Unreleased Original Prince Paul Mix)

This was the original version of ” Behind bars ” I recorded for Slick Rick during his incarceration in the early 90′s . The song didn’t come out until 94 but to my surprise was remixed by Warren G and Def Jam scrapped my mix . Though Im still considered a writer of the song I was really hoping to have this heard ( well in 92 when we recorded it that is ) . Though it sounds pretty dated its still one of my favorites and I had the pleasure of working with a Genius Slick Rick . Enjoy the Prince Paul unreleased series .. share music !

As a fan and a friend I had the pleasure of interviewing him and asking him fun questions about his life . Raida was a very funny guy , great sense of humor super smart and to this day I ALWAYS regret the fact that we never got a chance to work on the projects we had often discussed over the phone . Never take time for granted . RIP Roc Raida .

RZA using this is just crazy! I was around actually when they made 36 Chambers and as a result I know that there’s a little sound effect RZA triggers to cover up parts of the actual sample. He tried hiding a scratch on the record with little shakers or claps! [laughs] And you know what? It’s actually my record! RZA used it and never gave it back [laughs]. He was at the crib making ODB’s record and I came by and saw it and said ‘Yo this is mine!’ He just looked at me and smiled [laughs]. I grabbed it right back and left! [laughs]

An unreleased album from ’95 produced by Prince Paul, shared today by the man himself.

Prince Paul Presents: Horror City / unreleased album

This was a project that I wanted to put together with Amityville MC legend Superstar . as I thought about it more I wanted to recruit more Mcs we knew to make it diverse . Superstar already had the name “Horror City” so wen recorded under that name . This project was recorded right after the first Gravedigga album ” 6ft deep”in 1995 . I shopped the demo but unfortunately it got looked over and never got signed . I sat on this project for a while but it always had a dear place in my heart because I thought it was really good and the talent was there . I stripped some of the music from the demo and put it on ” a prince among thieves” and actually had a few of the guys perform on the ” Thieves ” album as well but to be honest I always liked these originals better . So now I have decided share these songs with all of you because holding on to them made no sense .. why not share great music . Hopefully you the listener will enjoy this project as much as I do . please share it , thats why I made this for free download .
