Not sure how I haven’t heard about this until now but Deeskee just released the follow-up to his debut album “Blacklight Sessions” on iTunes. I first heard about the ridiculous lineup a few years ago but it seemed to be one of those mythical albums that might never see the light of day. Glad I was wrong. The only thing stopping me from pressing the buy button is whether or not it’s available on vinyl or CD. Thanks for the info Lauren!

I sat through most of the first season of Big Love, the least he could do is drive his kid to some shows. But seriously, I guess what Bill Paxton thinks is not of any significant interest here. This song is from Isaiah’s debut album, Isaiah. It’s being presented by Murs 3:16 and is available at a few major digital retailers now. I copped this album last night from a cool site called amie street for about 6 beans. I’ve been wanting to hear this for some time. Over the past year or so we’ve heard some good collabos he has done with Murs, Dj Signify, Rheteric and Mestizo. This track features the underrated Witchdoctor. Don’t sleep. By the way, we’re just streaming this ’cause it’s too indie for us to feel comfortable giving away. Even though Murs is all major now.

New Murs album is out on Warner Brothers, mixed by Dj Quik using 2inch tape. People Under The Stairs recently dropped Fun DMC which reminded me that I rather hear Murs over Thes One than 9th Wonder or Will I.AM. This song featured Grover on the hook and was produced by Thes One in 1999 for Murs’ Good Music double CD. Peace to Access.

True hip hop heads know Murs from the group Living Legends, which also features fellow pro-spitters Sunspot Jonz, Scarub, Eligh and The Grouch, among others. But now the mainstream is about to get a taste of what the underground has been talking about for over a decade when his latest album, Murs For President, comes out on Warner Bros. September 30. This is a huge move for an MC who ain’t a gangsta, ain’t covered in bling and ain’t in a beef with everyone in the game. Murs is relying on tools too few have in hip hop these days: songs, beats, lyrics and substance.

Oh, and he has really funny hair. But I digress…

He also co-founded Guerilla Union, the folks behind popular hip hop festivals Rock the Bells and Paid Dues. He is also a member of collectives Felt, the 3 Melancholy Gypsys, and the Log Cabin crew, and has also collaborated on several projects with heralded producer 9th Wonder, most notably 2004’s Murs 3:16-The 9th Edition.

When Murs stopped by Purple Reign Studios to shoot his Freestyle 101 over a funky Messiaz beat, he had comics and videogames on his mind. He rhymed about his broken Xbox, his HD TV, Halo 3, Spider-Man, and more game and tech stuff than one could possibly throw into 3 ½ minutes. He was also so stoked about this week’s Comic-Con he flowed about it extensively, even dissing illustrator Brian Wood (DMZ, Local) for being less than nice at a previous event.

And Murs knows of what he speaks. He’s been to dozens of Comic-Cons and is an avid gamer. His song ” L.A. ” from 2006′s Murray ‘s Revenge was featured on the soundtrack to EA’s NBA Live 2007, and his new joint “Dreadlocks” can be heard on NFL Madden 08. So make sure to check Murs out on G4tv’s Attack of the Show tonight, Tuesday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
