Theres a lot of younger rappers who dont study there history especially sadly in my own city. Theres young dudes who never heard of or listened to Kane or G Rap,Lil B is NOT one of them.I have heard him quote lyrics from dope MCs, not hot rappers so that enough merits respect. What some call old heads Lil B calls influences you’d be surprised how humble and respectful he is and the love he has for East Coast pioneers. Lil B is a better at marketing then some people that are paid at lables to market(check his youtube). He generated his own buzz and is generating more buzz by doing and saying whatever the fuck he wants. Hes a smart dude and he respects hip hop more then some of the rappers who got rich off exploiting it. Chasing The Rain is one example of Lil B making a dope song. The cooking dance generated a buzz that probably wouldve been a hit record if he was on a major. The kid knows when where and how to say things and apparently its working because people keep talking about him. People said hes the worst thing to happen and that he killed hip hop so he made a song called “I killed Hip Hop” ALOT of the top rappers sold out way before Lil B had a demo out let him live.
People say hes gay because of something he said well I know of a rapper who said “she look so good I’d suck on her daddy dick” and not only did people not criticize him they song along. PAUSE
Come on it 2010 almost 2011 lets stop bringing each other down its getting real tired!

Yeah, I said it. The top dog for me is definitely KRS-One but it’s a rat race after that. Cappadonna is dope. Nice & Smooth too. And as far as lesser known artists, Edan and Buck 65 are up there. The key element all these artists possess that makes or breaks any live performance is the ability to create an intimate setting with the audience, no matter if it’s a crowd of 20 people or 200 people.

Pretty sure this is the first J-Love video I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been buying his records for going on 10 years or so.

Spotted last night at Santos Party House in NYC. I was anticipating seeing the La The Darkman performance but it surely disappointed. Despite the energy from LAD and Willie The Kid, no MC should ever rhyme over their own vocals on stage. AZ and Nature were dope and Cormega was the highlight of the night. One of the best live acts out there. And I’ve seen a lot. He also performed a new track with Nature and some verses from the new album. Needless to say, FIRE!

Not entirely sure as to the accuracy of the title or when this was recorded but sounds like it could be current. The unofficial Dj Premier blog threw it up yesterday. If you look for the post today it’s gone (although the cache is still good. Peace to pure hip-hop for the working link). Only thing is, “81 Bars of Murder” and “American Blackkk Man” have been titles that Foxxx has been throwing around for years now. Plus, he mentions Premier’s R&B work and M.O.P. on G-Unit? I don’t know, might be a bit dated. Guess somebody should just ask him. Either way, he throws some jabs.
