Big Shug teamed up once again with DJ Premier to work on a song, but this one will be something special, emotional and never done before. The original Gang Starr member Big Shug is going to dedicate a track named “Miss You” to the late Gang Starr front man Guru. This couldn’t be done without DJ Premier to make this track go right into the books. On July 17th Keith “Guru” Elam would turn 50 years old. Be on the lookout and Guru, we never forget you!

Ever since the EPMD show a few weeks back, I’ve been trying to look for some new music from Big Shug. He didn’t even perform that night, he just came out on stage to say peace but it reminded me of how much I used to like his shit. Anyway, I came across this track from Singapore Kane that I had downloaded from spinemagazine a few days ago. I forgot it featured a verse from Big Shug. He comes off real nice, especially when he has a hard beat. Moss laced this one.

I try to catch as many Cormega shows as possible because he’s really an underrated performer in my eyes. Not too many cats I’ve seen live possess the persona and charisma to entertain a crowd for a whole set. KRS-One is probably the best. Wu-Tang Clan, Nice & Smooth and EPMD are up there as well. You know I’ll definitely be hitting up this show, weeknight and all. buy tickets
