Swaying from acts of typical stage braggadocio to moments of almost absurd seemingly-juvenile and sexually ambiguous antics (something his followers have probably come to expect) and interspersed with some, not much, but some notable hip-hop music and lots of un-notable white people, this awkwardly sliced assortment of clips captures, what I can only imagine to be, Baby Bam’s ongoing experimentation with music, identity, sexuality, race identification and a delayed idon’tgiveaf#ck teenage rebellion. Either that or this is a vid of him being burnt and on stage with enabling friends who happen to play instruments.

Once upon a time there was a Pagan Prince who wandered away from himself. He loafed for some time in the soft casing of an very empathetic and friendly cloud. After inhaling much of the clouds aromatic advice to continue acquainting himself with gregarious flowers with whom he could share this majestic experience she whispered, “The day will come when I must rain to water the flowers that will grow to love you.” The sky – once turned blue by his moodiness – was now gray from the clouds sorrow. Together they cried and it rained. Engulfed in a tear drop of rain he descended buoyantly through the fog she made to ensure he would land graciously in a celestial garden with the numbers of her cloud on his head. He was then guided to The Pink House.

I’m still trying to get my head around all this but, if there weren’t any videos or pictures, just a cd with tracks and titles or maybe some inexplicable cover art, would it be that bad? Maybe even Bustah Rhymes would still allow Jungle Brothers drops in his music (peace to ?uest). What say you? Shooting what at first glance appear to be poorly edited home videos in Roswell New Mexico can not disguise the content of his music, although it sure as heck throws people off. It seems no matter how far out Bam would want to go, his roots are still grounded in the same dirt they were in 20 years ago. Albeit it with more (or less, depending on who you ask) perspective. Oh yeah, and more blatant sex talk which might confuse people into thinking he was writing from the perspective of a confused adolescent, which isn’t too far fetched considering he writes from the perspective of white rock stars.
